Hamilton Reasons for Faith presents…
Mini Apologetic Talks feat. Rachael Price & Dr. Peter Wright

The Problem with Pain by Rachel Price
Description: My talk will discuss the theological question of how there is pain and suffering in the world. Why does God allow this pain? Doesn’t he care about us? In my talk I will explore some of the biblical origins and consequences of pain in the bible, and hopefully answer these questions.

The Genetic Chasm Between Us And Chimps by Matthew Price
Description: Theologians often grapple with the ramifications of human evolution, which is itself primarily evidenced in the 99% genetic similarity between humans and chimps. But what if this evidence is invalid? In this mini-talk, geneticist Matthew Price will show how the genetic difference between us and chimps is far greater than 1%, and how there is not enough evolutionary time to even allow for a 1% difference!

Dr Peter Wright, MBChB, FRACP is a practicing Neurologist for 26 years, based in the Waikato Hospital and his private practice Neurology Solutions in which he serves throughout the whole central North Island. He began researching acute stroke imaging with MRI, involving a lot of Matlab programming, statistics, data analysis and curve fitting which has equipped him in today’s presentation. He attends Bridges church in Cambridge, is a Trusteee on the Board, and together with his lovely wife of 36 years Lianne, runs a weekly young adults homegroup.

A Christian of 40 years, he has always had an interest in matching scientific and biblical data, withthe perspective that every word of scripture is God-breathed, and that science is the pursuit of what God has done. There is only one reality.
