Neurodiversity in the Church Workshop Christchurch

July 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

What if some of the people in our churches are working twice as hard just to be there?
An estimated 1 in 5 people are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, OCD, and other neurological differences. Yet many individuals and families still struggle to feel understood, included, and connected within church communities.

Join Staci McLean, founder of The Neurocollective NZ, author of A Place Where I Belong, and mum to two neurodivergent young adults, for an honest and practical conversation about neurodiversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Drawing on personal experience, stories from families across New Zealand, and a deep love for the local church, Staci explores what it means to create faith communities where people can participate, contribute, and feel genuinely welcomed for who they are.

You’ll leave with:
• A better understanding of neurodiversity
• Practical ideas that can make a real difference
• Greater confidence in supporting individuals and families
• A fresh perspective on what true belonging looks like

Who should come?
Church staff, volunteers, kids ministry leaders, youth pastors, worship teams, families, and anyone passionate about inclusion, faith, and belonging.

What you’ll gain:
Clear explanations of neurodiversity and key terms

Practical ideas for access, inclusion, and belonging

Tools to support neurodivergent individuals and families

Encouragement for creating inclusive worship spaces

A fresh, faith-filled view: neurodiversity as a gift, not a deficit

Time for Q&A – and so much more!
